The Answer to your Dreams 4

If you have been following this column you should be attempting to interpret your own dreams by now. I find it encouraging that some of you indeed are sending in dreams with interpretations from using the dictionary and tutorial. Don't be hard on yourselves if you have difficulty. Making the effort, even if you get it wrong, is what makes the lessons take root. Keep it up.

This time I'm including three dreams with a spiritual dimension. This has always been my favorite aspect of dream interpretation. To most people it may seem that spiritual gifts have no real function in everyday life. This couldn't be further from the truth. Two of these dreams push the dreamers to develop their intuition. Intuition comes through the heart. Developing this heals much of the damage that we in 'Western Society' cause to our hearts. Given that heart disease is the leading cause of death in 50% of people in our culture developing your intuition it is a worthwhile exercise to combat that alone.

CATHY’S DREAM: I dreamt my husband and I were floating in the stars in the sky. It was dark except for the stars. We were both stretched out. He vertically and I horizontally. I reached for him but never connected. He was so close but not touchable. My feelings were of great love for him. I felt afraid he would float away from me. It was like he was exploring and didn't know I was there. I wasn't sure I wanted to be there, it was a little scary for me. I don't know how we got there. There was no landing in the dream.

INTERPRETATION: Your dream is about your relationship being 'in the dark' and up in the air. The dream is saying that you're not sure you want to be in the relationship while at the same time you are afraid you will both drift (float) apart. This uncertainty on your part must be creating conflict within - pulling you in two directions. At the moment you are not really compatible. Your goals (stars) in life are different and this is pulling you onto different planes (you're horizontal - he's vertical). This is stretching the bounds of the relationship for both of you (both stretched out). Your concern is clearly that he is on a task of finding himself (exploring) and while doing this he doesn't notice you or your love for him. It will take both of you to restore this relationship but you must first decide if you want to. Don't waste your energy by changing your mind from day to day. The dream does not show a hard end or a fall in store but there will be no outcome until you decide what you want.

COMMENT: This dream shows the dreamer that her concerns are understood at a soul level. The essence of where  the relationship is now is drawn out beautifully in the dream. What seems missing at first is that there is no course of action pointed out in the dream. However, the phrase to underline is 'I wasn't sure I wanted to be there'. This reminds us that we are the creators of our own reality. We are directors and stars in a play where we draw the complete cast of characters to ourselves based on how we think. What we see in others is a reflection of ourselves. Cathy's partner's uncertainty is a reflection of her own uncertainty. Eliminate this uncertainty and you will no longer need to have it reflected by others. Cathy's next step is decide her future by either resolving to commit to the relationship or to let it go. 

BELLE’S DREAM: I was on top of a mountain on a sunny day and I jumped off of it. I was flying. Very very high over lots of mountains that are brown and green. I felt very light and free when I was flying. After sometime, this big eagle joins me for the ride and we fly together. He leads me to a point where there is a valley and I land in front of a fortune tellers' table. She has a sort of a stand that she sells jewelry. She says to me: "Take these earrings and put them on you." They are beautiful earrings and they have opals and rubies on them. I put them on and she says that I will look and hear much better with them. In my dream, I actually felt very beautiful after putting them on.

INTERPRETATION: The change of diet is good for you and the removal of toxins is cleansing your blood. This will eventually clear your connection to God and you will receive the gift of Fortune Telling. You have two symbols from my list indicating this gift. Accepting the jewelry in the dream was the best thing you could do. The Fortune Teller is a guide / guardian angel and she is saying that you will see the future ('look') and hear messages. This is a fantastic gift as you can use it to really push your life forward in addition to helping others. When you start doing this (and you will) you will connect with your inner beauty - a recognition of God within you - and you will shine. Keep on the diet for the moment. The sun and the earrings both indicate that it is healing your colon (color brown) and cleansing your blood (green). You also have the gift of healing but it is not emphasized in this dream.

COMMENT: Guides / guardian angels appear in dreams as someone with a title and / or someone who speaks with authority. As guides they are infallible and they usually demonstrate your abilities. In this dream the guide is a fortune teller so it is given that the dreamer has this gift. In the dream the fortune teller has a stand selling jewelry (precious gifts). Again this is demonstrating what the dreamer is asked to do. She is to take a stand where she sells her gift to others. Spiritual powers are often associated with precious jewelry in dreams as our powers are the most precious gifts we have. Belle's next step is to accept that she has this gift. Once it is accepted opportunities for using it will manifest.

SARAH’S DREAM:  The Frog, The Dog and The Silver Coins: This is the 2nd dream about a talking frog whom I did develop a close relationship with in the 1st dream a while back. He was trying to help me but had to leave, I believed he was dead (destroyed torturously). In this 2nd dream he sent me a message (it may have been a note), said he was coming to see me. He came and we were outside in a backyard talking. A dog (rotweiler) showed up and began to sniff around as though looking for something and the frog had disappeared. My husband came out and I began to tell him about the frog and then we saw a silver coin under a closed door, as we removed the coin more & more appeared, there were so many of these coins. I began to wake up and the dog was staring me in the face as if to keep me from speaking, like he was guarding my mouth, trying to evoke fear.

INTERPRETATION: The meaning of this whole dream is almost given in the title! Your a channel / medium. Water indicates spirituality (spirit world) and frogs, although air breathing, live in the water. They are comfortable in either environment. Symbolically this means that you are a bridge / channel between the physical and spirit world. This is emphasized by the unusual communication abilities of the frog. The silver coins indicate you have a strong intuition or inner knowing. This gift complements you channeling. The dog shows that you are letting your own animal fears repress your Spiritual nature.

COMMENT: Channels are born rather than made. While anyone can learn to communicate with spirit a channel is automatically open to this. However, to bring the gift in fully requires a balance between the channel's male and female energy. As such, partners will often appear in these dreams to symbolize both male and female sides in harmony. The harmony here is shown by both husband and wife (male and female sides) working together to open the door (closed door in dream) on the dreamer's intuition (the silver coins). Sarah used to channel in the past (dream takes place in the back garden), possibly in childhood, and the key to reopening the door on her connection is through picking up on her intuition (picking up the coins). Sarah's next step is to follow her intuition on things and allow it to become stronger.

PETER’S DREAM: I saw myself doing my bed. The bed was wide with a plain moss green quilt. After which, I saw a silver jeweled crown.

INTERPRETATION: The bedroom in this dream represents meditation. You are being asked to develop your intuition (silver). To do this requires getting in touch with and opening your heart (green).

COMMENT: I included this dream to show that the bedroom does not always indicate the reproductive system! The main clue to this is the mention of the silver crown. The crown indicates the crown chakra which has to do with our spiritual nature. This short dream is similar in many ways to the Sarah's dream above but as you can see it gets the meaning across in a more concise way. An important keyword in this dream is 'Quilt' which is a pun on guilt. This indicates that Peter has to overcome guilt before his intuition / psychic ability will flow. The other significant keyword is 'wide'. While Peter has the potential to have a strong intuition it is currently narrow (opposite of wide) or under developed. Peter's next step is to get in touch with his feelings in order to develop his intuition.
