This section contains articles I wrote over roughly an 8 year period for my newsletter. They are written to be read in the order listed here with articles usually building on previoius material. There are three main threads to the articles.

  • The first teaches The Basics of Dream Inerpretation.
  • The second thread is written in Agony Aunt style short interpretations of reader's dreams along with advice for following through on their message.
  • The third thread explains how to develop psychic abilities such as Seeing the Human Aura and Spiritual Healing. This last thread can be skipped without impact on the fllow of the other two threads. It is mainly here for people who discover from their dreams that they have particular abilities.

An Introduction to Dream Interpretation

Written by Michael Sheridan on .

Last night, as you slept, you entered the world of dreams. This world is sometimes magical, at other times horrifying, yet each night you return there probably four or five times. Each of us does this and we cannot stop ourselves from crossing the threshold into this world. Why? Is there a purpose to your dreams? Of the more than 2,000 dreams you will have this year are any of them meaningful? The answer is yes, all of them, and learning to interpret them will help you change your life for the better.

The Answer to your Dreams 1

Written by Michael Sheridan on .

Each morning I wake to the sound of my two-year-old daughter singing in the next room. When I pick her up she is full of excitement at the prospect of another beautiful day on the planet. Adults tend to have lost touch with that feeling, but it can be reclaimed. The solution is simply to put back into place the things that are vital to the enjoyment of life that were dropped over the years. This can take time, but each step taken, literally adds wonders to life and the only advice needed is your own! It is ironic that at night, when you let go of reality, your dreams try to awaken you to what you are overlooking. The choice is yours to restore the magic to your life by listening to your dreams.

How to See the Human Aura

Written by Michael Sheridan on .

Techniques for seeing the aura alone are described later but it is best to do this with a group of 6 or more people. Choose a room that has a plain white or pastel colour wall. Dim the lights and wait until your eyes have adjusted. Have one person, the subject, stand still against the wall with their eyes closed so as not to distract the focus of the viewers (see picture 1). The viewers should stand or sit in front of the subject at a distance of about 6 feet. Glasses do not need to be removed by anyone.

How to Feel the Human Aura with your Hands

Written by Michael Sheridan on .

The Aura is an electromagnetic energy field that surrounds us. I used to laugh at that idea. How could anybody believe something so ridiculous? Simple! Using the correct technique the aura is easily visible. Although my courses are about Dream Interpretation I started showing people how to see and feel the aura to overcome their skepticism when I'd get to discussing the spiritual dimension of dreams. This article focuses on feeling it. I always enjoy this part of the course because it is something that works for everyone. People get totally charged at the magic and simplicity of it. I urge you to try this one. It will only take five minutes but could very well change your life by opening you up to a whole new dimension.

The Answer to your Dreams 2

Written by Michael Sheridan on .

From previous columns you may recall that dreams focus on the weakest aspect of our functioning at the present time. This may be a weakness in our physical body, such as an allergy to a food or a problem in our relationship. While this may seem negative, the purpose of each dream is to guide us to a solution for a problem that exists whether we believe that the problem exists or not. We don't even need to be consciously aware of the problem. Ignoring their message is refusing to accept a divine helping hand.

How to Interpret Your Dreams Part 1

Written by Michael Sheridan on .

The I AM and I NEED Formula

The difficulty most people have with interpreting their own dreams is that they aren't objective enough. Their familiarity with the people and places in their dreams obscures the dreams meaning. This formula, I AM and I NEED, was devised to overcome this. Here's how it works.

Cutting the Ties That Bind

Written by Michael Sheridan on .

Cutting the Ties that Bind is based on meditation and symbols of the subconscious to heal your inner child. It was introduced by Phyllis Krystal who has written several books on the subject. The process, and the wisdom behind it, is covered in detail in her first book Cutting The Ties That Bind. A summary is outlined here.

Health: The Digestive & Elimination System

Written by Michael Sheridan on .

How can I make an article about the digestive and elimination system interest you? When it comes to health dreams people tend not to be interested unless they already know they have a problem. It reminds me of a story I heard about a newspaper in America that offered a reward for people who phoned in with news stories. The editor received a call from someone saying that a truck had lost its brakes on a hill and after picking up great speed crashed into and demolished a house. "I'm not interested," he said, "that sort of thing happens all the time. It's not news." "You'll be more interested", said the caller, "when I tell you that it was your house!"

The Answer to Your Dreams 3

Written by Michael Sheridan on .

In my column on July 2, 2000 I ran a survey on whether dreams concerning femininity should be covered in the newsletter. Thanks to everyone who participated in the survey. I’m glad to say the response was overwhelmingly in favor of covering them, with less than 1% against.

Kharma & Dharma in Dreams

Written by Michael Sheridan on .

Before we are born we have two choices as to how we will live our lives. Karma or Dharma. Most people would be familiar with the word karma to some extent. Think of it like a bank balance. Certain things you do in your life may restrict the development of others and adds to your karmic debt. Other things you do help others and takes away from your karmic debt. So, at any moment in time, your karma is simply the balance you have when all your positive deeds and negative deeds are put together. So your karma could be positive, in which case life will be easy for you, or negative, in which case you could face difficulties from time to time in you life.

The Answer to Your Dreams 4

If you have been following this column you should be attempting to interpret your own dreams by now. I find it encouraging that some of you indeed are sending in dreams with interpretations from using the dictionary and tutorial. Don't be hard on yourselves if you have difficulty. Making the effort, even if you get it wrong, is what makes the lessons take root. Keep it up.

How I Became Involved in the Spiritual Field

Written by Michael Sheridan on .

This week I decided to drift from my usual format and tell you how I got involved with Dream Interpretation. Recently I have been more open with people who ask me about this. In the past I always skirted around it or gave stock answers that I knew my interviewer would be happy with. When you read what got me started you'll understand.

How to Interpret Your Dreams Part II

The I AM and I NEED formula

This month I want to show you in detail how to use the I AM and I NEED formula I described in my July 09, 2000 column (Click here to review). To do this I'm taking a dream submitted by a reader. The first time through the dream we just try to determine the subject matter without interpreting the rest of it.

How to Feel the Presence of Your Guides

Written by Michael Sheridan on .

This week I want to show you how to feel the presence of your guides. This is very easy to do and you only need to give yourself 10 minutes for the exercise. As with many of these exercises this one is much easier to do in a group but will work on your own. The advantage of a group is you can compare what you are feeling. Once one person makes the connection they can describe it to others in the group. Here’s what to do.

Where do Dreams Come From and Why?

Written by Michael Sheridan on .

Dreams come from your soul and are intended to help you progress along your life path. In sleep the focus of the physical world and the body is on hold and during this period your soul has a perfect opportunity to dialogue with your conscious mind...or so it would appear. The problem here is that the subconscious never sleeps. Think of the subconscious like a faithful dog always on guard to protect its master. Your soul asks the conscious mind to make a change to some aspect of functioning in order to avoid a particular undesirable outcome. Let's take a very common example. Say your soul wants you to be less analytical / rational in your approach to life and to incorporate intuition / feelings into the decision making process. It dispatches a dream for this purpose. Ideally the dream is received and your conscious mind accepts the direction of your soul and begins a program to change in this direction. The more likely outcome, however, is that your subconscious mind asserts itself in the dream and provides all sorts of reasons why this change should be avoided. Due to this, the message / request in the dream is effectively spoiled.

The Heart & Circulatory System

Written by Michael Sheridan on .

After a month's break I'm back. Thanks to everyone who wrote with good wishes and expressing their concern. Although the article and the newsletter have been delayed I was still working away in other mediums. You can listen to my latest radio call-in with Noelle Joyce on the site now. I highly recommend you listen to this while you browse the site or just read this article. Each medium has its own strengths and limitations. In my opinion live radio is much more entertaining and captures the essence of what I'm trying to teach in a very natural way. Click here to open the audio player in a separate window while you read on. Enough said! Now let's get started with this weeks article.

The Heart and Circulatory System Part II

Written by Michael Sheridan on .

In Part 1 I summarized why we in western cultures have such a high rate of heart related illness. This week I want to show how dreams reflect this and explain ways to follow the healing advice they give. Let's take a look at some dreams now. In the following dreams the symbols that indicate the heart are underlined. A plane landing or arriving at an airport indicates the dreamer's arrival onto the planet at birth. In the following dream fragment we immediately get a sense of the dreamer's difficult birth.

The Aura & Chakras

Written by Michael Sheridan on .

Everything in the Spirit world comes down to energy. All work with the Spirit world, whether it is channeling or healing is through energy. At this point in the series this idea should not sound so strange. The Aura, which we learned to see here and feel here, is an energy field. Through scanning this energy field healers detect imperfections that reflect physical or emotional problems in their client. Through channeling energy into their client’s body they can restore the balance so the body can heal itself.

The Answer to Your Dreams 5

I am surprised to see that August 20th was the last time I seriously dipped into the mailbag! Thanks to everyone who sent in a dream and a special thanks to those who replied when they saw their dreams in this column. I hope you find yours here this time.

The Answer to Your Dreams 6

Written by Michael Sheridan on .

This week I take two more dreams from the mailbag. Both dreams, which were picked at random, point out spiritual gifts in the dreamers. As different spiritual gifts are touched on I will explain them so that you can distinguish between them. Our first dreamer here is clairvoyant and psychic. A clairvoyant receives messages from the spirit world through images or symbols. The world psychic, however, is often used to describe anybody with a spiritual gift so let me explain the true meaning of being psychic. We all have a higher self or soul. It is termed higher self because it is the part of us that never lost awareness and is therefore at a higher state of awareness than our physical self. All souls are connected through love. Therefore our higher self is in tune with all other souls. A psychic has a special connection with their higher self while on the earth plane. Through this connection they can tap into their own higher wisdom but since this is connected to all souls they have the wisdom of all souls at their disposal. A psychic has no need to communicate with other spirits because all their information comes through the special link they have with their higher self. Now let’s have a look at the dreams.

The Spiritual Dimension of Dreams

Written by Michael Sheridan on .

This week I take our first look at the Spiritual Dimension of Dreams. Up until now I have focused on the basics of dream interpretation and how they indicate health warnings. Dreams also comment on our spiritual path and how true we are to that path.  This is hardly surprising since dreams come from a spiritual source.

Hands On / Spiritual Healing

Written by Michael Sheridan on .

You would be hard pressed to find anybody who has not heard of hands-on or spiritual healing. While I have to admit that this method of healing sounds ridiculous it is extremely effective. There are many types of hands-on healing. Popular forms these days include Reiki and Bio-energy. The healing I describe here, however, is completely controlled by spirit. The therapist channels healing energy into their client but does not focus the energy with an intention. Their focus is simply on being an open channel for the healing energy. Spirit uses the energy channeled to heal the client in an appropriate way.

The Spiritual Dimension of Dreams - Part II

Written by Michael Sheridan on .

In my last article you learned how to tell when a dream is about your Spiritual dimension. In this article I expand by explaining how to tell which specific gift or gifts your dream is about. You will already have seen plenty of examples of this, however, in The Answer to Your Dreams.
