Title:

Twisters

Dream: Twisters

My boyfriend, Mike, an old friend from high school, Cassey, a guy pal of mine and I were at the college's computer lab when tornado warnings came out.   We didn't want to stay there, so we decided to run home.  There were twisters everywhere!

One must have picked us up and put us down in the middle of the country because the next thing I remember is being on this speeding train car that was going down the middle of the street and going pretty fast. The street we were on was lined with wheat fields, so my friend Cassey said that we should all jump off and go into the fields- so, she and I jumped and I called for Mike, but he was too scared (or maybe stubborn) to jump off so he and the other guy stayed on the car.

After being in the field for only a short time, Cassey and I saw a lot of twisters, so we decided to run back to the nearest building we could find. We ended up in the concrete basement of the computer lab that we started out from. Once in there, I remember that I put a recliner over me and hid under it, I tried to get others to do it too, but they did not think it was necessary.  They thought I was just being too cautious.

When the storm was over, a counselor came up to me and asked how I was doing.  From that point, I got really worried!  I kept asking him, "where's Michael?" and he would not tell me , he said in situations like these, they have to tell the parents first, and they had not been able to contact his yet. After minutes of crying and screaming to the guy, he finally told me that Michael was gone.   This is when I woke up crying.

Interpretation

Before putting it all together I'll just list the symbols that fall into the same categories.

The mind: twisters, computer lab, storm, worry
Relationship: Mike
Digestive system / Colon: lined with wheat, concrete, basement, recliner

Here's what it is about. The dream starts of in a computer lab - computers are the perfect symbol for the brain / mind as they are logical machines. So the dream is about how your state of mind affects your health. The tornadoes indicate mental stress and on the scene we have 3 other people. The most important here is your boyfriend so this then links your stress and your relationship. I can't say from this dream whether the relationship is a source of stress in some way, or whether stress is affecting your relationship but there is a link. In the dream you were warned of approaching tornadoes so take this as a warning of potential stress in the relationship. You don't describe the other two people so here's how you need to get at the significance of them being in the dream. When you think of Cassey and stress what comes to mind? Is she the most relaxed person you know? If so then she is in the dream as a healing agent to help heal your level of stress. If not then try to figure out where her stress is coming from because this will help you pinpoint your source of stress. Do the same with the other boy in the dream. However, in his case also check out other reasons he could be there. Would his presence annoy your boyfriend, for example? Do they get on?

Next you are on a speeding train car going very fast down a street lined with wheat fields. Here you are given an inside view of your own colon (in a rather nicer format I will admit). This is saying that your colon is lined with wheat or in other words you have difficulty eliminating food containing wheat. When you see food substances like this in your dreams it indicates something you need to eliminate from your diet. Later in the dream you would expect to be shown what happens to this wheat that your body cannot eliminate.  The train car is what indicates the colon. It is something that would normally move with ease down a track. In a symbolic way this indicates food moving down the digestive tract. The speed is healing for a sluggish digestive system so this indicates the cause of your allergy. This may sound gross at first but think of your colon as a dust-bin. how long would you leave rotten food in the dust-bin before emptying it? The colon should be empty 4 hours after you eat your meal. If it takes longer than that your digestive system is sluggish. It's not what you eat that causes allergies - it's what you can't excrete!

So why does the colon suddenly feature? Simple. The stress is contributing to your allergy.

Next you run to a building to take cover. You end up in a concrete basement. The basement again represents the colon and the concrete is what used to be the wheat. This is saying that if you don't take care of your elimination problem now the wheat which stays against the lining of your colon will become cemented. The recliner is also a pun indicating the lining at the end of the colon.

The people with you are telling you that you are too cautious. Relate this to everyday life and your relationship with Mike. Life is about having fun and feeling passion in your heart. Being overly cautious kills the ability to feel passion. When the stressful period (storm) ends you meet a counselor who tells you that Mike is gone. Rather than read this as a warning that Mike will not be around you - take it that the dream is telling you to relax in your relationship, eliminating causes of stress and worry (and wheat!) and let yourself feel passion for life. This will help your relationship and your health.

Lastly, and I have to comment on it, the counselor is telling you that your parents need to be told something. Think about this yourself. If there is nothing on the cards now that comes to mind keep an eye out for it and share the situation with your parents. They may give a perspective on things that you miss.
