Dream: The Monster

I'm standing in my backyard and there is a man I've never seen before cooking something on the grill. I don't remember why I look away, but when I turn back around, a big grotesque man is standing in the stranger's place. He comes after me and [my] brother, so I stuff him (my brother) in a suitcase and run next door, the neighbor's yard is full of tigers and lions. I run back home.  I can never remember what happens next, but he somehow gets my brother and breaks him in half, the comes after me, that's when I wake up.

Interpretation

This dream is a health warning. The subject matter of the colon is evident from the backyard (see tutorial section) and the fact that food is being cooked. From Rule 1 we know that everything in the dream is you and from Rule 2 we know that all symbols are linked to show cause and effect. The subject matter is that grilled food (you may know the particular food that you feel disagrees with you) is causing some sort of reaction in your body. The reaction is given by your description of the stranger changing into the big grotesque man - in other words the stranger mutates into something grotesque. When cells mutate in our body we call it cancer. This is what your dream is warning you about. The frequency of your dreams is important (which is why I have skipped ahead many dreams in the pile directly to yours). This is not saying that you have cancer (you don't) but it is saying that you need to cut out grilled foods from your diet. If you don't do this then you leave yourself with the potential to develop cancer of the colon in years to come. Dreams can warn you of potential problems up to 20 years in advance!

Again, as you will see from other dreams about the colon, this is commonly linked to dad's side of the family. Your brother also represents your dad in this dream and you stuffing him into a suitcase and running with it is saying that you picked up baggage from your dad and are still carrying this. Naturally in the dream you run to a similar setting, the colon (represented by the neighbor's back yard this time) and here you see tigers and lions. This gives us a clue as to the baggage you picked up. If you review the tutorial on colors you will see that the combination black and orange together indicate a need to succeed in career matters. So dad has placed on you a burden which causes you to feel that to be worth anything you need to achieve success in the workplace. Eliminate this baggage and you will help your physical elimination.

The lion is a healing symbol because of his color yellow (again indicates digestive system if you refer to color tutorial) and indicates the need to rationalize fears.

Thank you so much for explaining this dream to me. It's been bothering me for so long, and now I finally understand it. I guess this means I should cut down on fast food cheeseburgers!
