Comment:

This is a recurring dream that I have had for over two months now. The dream is always relatively the same.

Title:

Misplace My Car

Dream: Misplace My Car

I park my car in a San Francisco parking garage and then end up on the other side of the city. The rest of my dream involves me trying to find the way back to my car. In one dream I was in a theater filled with teenagers. When the lights turned on all the youth, including me, were dressed in "mod" clothing. I asked two or three of them if they would go into the city with me to help me find my car. In some dreams I must go through a school playground to get to the car. The latest dream involved me and my dog. I parked my car in a parking lot in the city (I had previously been driving on the highway trying to find a hospital but ended up on an island in the city instead). The dog and I proceeded to walk down into this park for a time, then I decided it was time to return to the car. When I started back up the hill I got lost again and ended up in several buildings. I knew the way out was through closets that were direct links to other halls. So I kept going through closet doors to see if that was the door out. I saw several people along the way including: people in a music auditorium playing instruments, people in meetings, people playing sports, a preschool room with no children (where I had a difficult time taking suitcases out of the closet and tearing through a cardboard box to get to the hall) and a huge library filled with people. It was at this time that I woke up. In all the dreams I always wake up before I find my car. There also seems to be some fear in people finding out what I am doing.

Interpretation

We have recurring dreams when there is something important that we need to take note of. The dream will recur while you are in this transition phase. The dream indicates (through the symbol of the car park) you are facing a choice of roles or attitudes with regard to expansion of life (the theater - I am assuming here that it is a cinema. I lived in America for 5 years and everyone where I was called the cinema the theater).

In a nutshell this would be like a nagging feeling that keeps asking, "Where do I go from here?" It is not necessarily that anything is wrong with where you are at but that you are ready for a change. The direction that the dream is asking you to expand in is towards opening your heart. This is indicated by several symbols (San Francisco, the highway, the island and the dog). This will make sense as I continue on. Currently you feel you are in the dark (the lights off in the cinema). To see where you need to go (the lights turned on in the cinema) you need to look back to when you were a teenager. What lifestyle attitudes (mod clothing) did you pick up then? Look back to this time in your life for any major events which you feel shaped you towards who you are today. Revisit these events and ask yourself if you could do better now by dropping the negative influence of that time. The dream indicates that you lost your sense of life being fun then. This is why you are brought through a school playground. While life essentially a learning experience (the school) you are encouraged to have fun in the process (the playground)

In your latest dream we have the same subject matter (the parking lot) but here it jumps straight to passion in life (represented by the dog). Again you need to put your heart into things. I mean this by way of having fun / passion while doing things. You have separated yourself from the world around you (indicated by the island). This is not a new thing. You did this almost before being born so you would feel more that the world is separated from you rather than the way I put it. This would tend to make you see life as an uphill struggle because the fun is taken out of it.

The rest of the dream shows why you did this. You had a difficult birth (indicated by the difficulty finding the correct door from the hallway and difficulty breaking through the cardboard box). When birth shows up in a dream you also see abilities that you have. Reminders of why you were born. In your case these are

  • The ability to channel through hearing (as indicated by people playing music instruments in the auditorium).
  • The ability to counsel groups of people (indicated by the library full of people)

The last point is that some of the baggage you have to deal with is from your birth and pre-birth as indicated by the pre-school and taking the suitcases (baggage) with you through the birth canal (the closed doorway).
