Workbook Category:

Health / Digestive & Elimination System

Dreamer:

Female 26 - Amsterdam

Title:

Breakfast

Dream: Breakfast

I went to have breakfast at a neighbor's house. I don't know the face I dreamt of (her face). Her house was beautiful but she was very strange. She had short blond hair and was very skinny. She was still wearing her nightie. My dad was there. I don't know where he came from. She had a cat that kept scratching me and climbing up her wallpaper. She told me how wonderful it was to have cats and fed it. It bothered me that the cat was clawing at me but I didn't dare to say a thing. All of a sudden we were in a room, the three of us, with a huge banquet. She had put on her jeans and was expecting guests. We sat at a wooden table and didn't dare to leave. Thought it would be rude. She was running around with visitor's. All of a sudden she sat next to us and started kissing my father's neck who pushed her away. She started crying. She seemed very upset and manic depressed. I left. I was late for something.

Interpretation

Your dream is about your digestive system of all things. This is clear by the fact that eating and places of eating are the feature of the dream. The cat in this context represents the gut (cat gut) and indicates a problem there. In short the place of damage in the dream is the wall paper in the kitchen. This represents the lining of the intestines. Your blonde friend is a healing agent in the dream and she is trying to get you to view your digestive system as something that is positive to have (she say's it's wonderful to have cats) and that you should feed it. This suggests to me that their is a weight problem involved. Do you skip meals by any chance? The dream is not focusing on any particular food so you are being asked to eat well in general. Failure to do this is causing problems with the lining of your stomach / intestines. The problem is being linked to your dad. That is why he appears in the dream. It is triggered by two things. Something that is inherited (the woman putting on jeans = it is in your genes) plus the fact that you felt dad pushed you away. This led to depression which affects the body negatively. So in essence you need to eliminate the negative influences you picked up from dad to heal yourself. There are many therapies available for this but I find that most people don't want to bother. One I strongly suggest is called cutting the ties that bind. Make sure, if you do this, that the therapist is recommended by somebody you trust.

I glanced at your other dreams and although I have not interpreted them the first is saying that at age 13 is when you started feeling lost in life. Knowing the age is useful for looking at what you need to work on.

Dreamer's Comment on the Interpretation

I am extremely surprised about the relevance of your interpretation. Incredible! I have just had a period of dieting behind me (Montignac method) and lost about 12 pounds. I have the tendency to get heavy and weight has always given me a certain mind-problem. I'm still not pleased with my new weight and hope to lose some more but have been getting binges. As for intestinal wall problems: this could well be true since about a year ago I have had to take medicine against acid-reflux.

As for my Dad [section deleted], he himself always has stomach problems. I am at the present time in therapy and guess what: my therapist focuses on the cutting of umbilical chord process! Amazing isn't it?

I have had a tough time this passed year. I'm 26 and moved to the Caribbean right after university (law-school) to work for a law-firm. Only three months later I got a muscle disorder (dystonia) and was flying back and forth for treatment. I broke down and eventually resigned, flew back to Holland in February and looked for a new job which worked out. [section deleted] Emotionally I managed to get myself into a serious depression. I started taking anti-depressants in May and since then I've been able to remember my (usually awkward) dreams again. I'm fighting back and feeling much better but really am absolutely astonished about the incredible accuracy of your words!

I would have never recognized the meaning of my dreams myself but your interpretation does explain a few things and point out the things I should be aware of (not getting too obsessive about weight for example). Thank you so much and keep up the extremely impressive work!

Regards
