Title:

Boyfriend Dying

Dream: Boyfriend Dying

I have had two very disturbing dreams so far, about my boyfriend dying. We have been going steady for nearly 2 years now. In some vague way I am responsible for his death. In a very vague way. I am scared.

Interpretation

Your dream is quite a common one. Essentially the purpose of the dream is to get you to view your male side in a positive light. If you have heard of the Chinese Yin and Yang you will know that we have both male and female sides to ourselves. Our dreams will always try to keep these sides balanced so that we don't allow either side 'run' our lives. In your dream your boyfriend represents your male side. In a dream any man can represent this side of yourself. You pick this man because he would symbolize a male side you can be open and honest with. Him dying in the dream does not indicate his physical death but the death of an aspect of yourself. Because of our upbringing we tend to be male in our approach to life (regardless of gender). This causes an imbalance and our dreams address it in several ways. Your dream is showing you what you are doing to yourself. Your true male side is dying. This is most likely a result of a poor relationship with your father as a child. The dream is then saying "Let the negative influence your father has/had over you die so that your true male side can find expression".

Dreamer's Comment on the Interpretation

Thank you so much Michael, That was a big relief. My relationship with my father is no great shakes. I respect him, but we just do not click. Thank you so much for taking the trouble to reply.
